El objetivo de este artículo es revelar el poder biopolítico del Estado a través del control de cuerpos, disposición o injerencia en la vida de inmigrantes ilegales poblanos en Nueva York. Nuestra estrategia metodológica se focalizó en retomar testimonios a partir de 80 entrevistas semiestructuradas y estructuradas y de una amplia observación participante de sus actividades habituales para determinar la inclusión/exclusión de su vida, carentes de cualidades políticas, de derechos y excluidos de ciertos servicios. Los resultados muestran cómo el poder biopolítico del Estado trasciende el castigo directo a los inmigrantes ilegales, el de la detención y deportación, al tiempo que aportamos información de acciones individuales que reflejan ideas y creencias de lo que es permisible durante su estancia y contextos en los que la sociedad ejerce el castigo.... view less

This article seeks to reveal the biopolitical power of the State through the control of bodies, disposition or interference in the lives of illegal immigrants from Puebla in New York. Our methodological strategy focused on retaking testimonies from 80 semi-structured and structured interviews and a broad participant observation of their usual activities to determine the inclusion / exclusion of their life, lacking political qualities, rights and excluded from certain services. The results show how the biopolitical power of the State transcends the direct punishment of illegal immigrants as a result of their detention and deportation, while we provide information on individual actions that reflect ideas and beliefs of what is permissible during their stay and contexts in that society which enforces the punishment.... view less
