Widersprüche und Ambivalenzen kommunaler Integrationskonzepte

Abstract

"Nach einer kurzen Thematisierung der Stadt als Ort der Integration, anknüpfend an Konzepte von Georg Simmel und Robert Park, befasst sich der Beitrag mit den inhaltlichen Ausrichtungen der policy, der Integrationspolitik von Städten. Empirische Grundlage ist eine Analyse von Integrationskonzepten von Großstädten, die in den letzten Jahren verabschiedet wurden. Nach einer Darstellung der Organisationsformen, Prinzipien und Handlungsfelder, die in vielen Konzepten große Ähnlichkeiten aufweisen, werden inhaltliche Ambivalenzen (interkulturelle Öffnung der Stadtverwaltungen und Segregation von Migrant(inn)en) sowie politisch begründete Widersprüche diskutiert, die die Chancen und Effekte lokaler Integrationspolitik infrage stellen." "Based on concepts of Georg Simmel and Robert Park, the article begins with a short overview of the city as a place of integration. The main focus of the article deals with the integration policies of cities. The empirical basis of the article is an analysis of the integration concepts of German cities with at least 100.000 inhabitants that have been passed in recent years. After summarising the forms of organisation, the basic principles and the main fields of activity, discussion turns to some ambivalences with regard to the contents (intercultural change in the municipalities and segregation of migrants) and political contradictions, which challenge the opportunities and effects of locally based integration policies."
