"In this article the ecological modernisation is being presented as a hegemonic project in the international climate policy. Ecological modernisation emphasizes a treatment of climate change which is derived from institutionalised interpretation and behaviour patterns, and thus counteracts a radical transformation of societal relations to nature. The exploratory analysis of the 'Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage' indicates a reproduction of this hegemonic project of ecological modernisation in policy advice of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The results of the analysis support the hypothesis developed in this article that the technology of Carbon Capture and Storage plays a key role in debates on the need for a radical transformation of social relations to nature."
