"Stakeholder management is a term used for a large variety of management approaches. Some companies consider information concerning stakeholders in order to plan their activities. Other companies institutionalize stakeholder dialogs into their regular management process and, thus, allow stakeholder to influence their actions. The article's thesis is that depending on the purpose the degree of communication varies. Four categories of stakeholder management are identified which are either dominated by monologue or dialog and can be differentiated as strategic or communicative action as defined by Habermas (Habermas 1999: 127f.). This distinction is illustrated in a case study of Daimler-Chrysler Aerospace Airbus in Hamburg." (author's abstract)... view less
