(Autorenreferat)... view less

"In a recent study focusing on methodological aspects, 24 divorced and 65 married couples have been interviewed twice. Three problems are discussed in this article: How consistent are retrospective statements of respondents about themselves, about their partner and about their relationship and marriage? Up to which extent does the response of both partners correspond? And which are the results of examining both aspects combined for the use of retrospective data in research on family? According to the results of the analyses, in retrospective interviews objective informations are preferable to subjective interpretable statements. Subjective questions about the partner are only applicable in very few spheres." (author's abstract)... view less
