'In this article the author tries to show connections between the phenomenon of transsexuality/ transidentity (that means someone's belief in being a member of the other gender and the simultaneous wish on bodily as well as behavioural assimilation) and the concept of transdifference. In his opinion the concept of transdifference provides a theoretical frame of reference to understand the phenomenon of transidentity: Transidentical persons are prime examples for the process of doing identity and 'simultaneity of sustainment and change of differences'. They transgress the limitations of maintaining the two gender perspectives (there are girls and boys).' (author's abstract)|... view less
