'Nie schien Rezeptionsgeschichte so einfach wie heute. Seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurden in Deutschland ganze Berge von Tabellenbänden produziert, gefüllt mit Einschaltquoten und Leserzahlen. Quellen über Quellen also - der Traum jedes Historikers. In diesem Beitrag geht es darum, wie dieser Traum Wirklichkeit werden kann. Unter welchen Bedingungen wurden Meinungsumfragen betrieben, in welcher Form sind die Ergebnisse überliefert, welche Fehlerquellen gibt es? Wie kann man die Zahlen kontrollieren und verstehen, wie Lücken in der Überlieferung schließen?
