"Denmark is considered to be a country which is highly emancipated concerning gender roles. But is that true? On the basis of Sainsbury's theoretical concept the Danish family policy will be analysed in matters of their legal regulations and their effects concerning the degree of individualisation and their gender neutrality. Moreover, the tension between work enforcement and retreat from the labour market, which becomes very clear for mothers through most recent alterations of the Danish labour market and family policy, will be examined."
