This white paper explores the concept of "Brainrot," a term describing potential cognitive and behavioral decline linked to early and excessive digital media use among children. Reviewing current neuropsychiatric and developmental research, the authors highlight associations between screen exposure and negative outcomes such as reduced brain connectivity, impaired attention, and socioemotional dysregulation. While causality remains contested, the paper calls for precautionary public health approaches, emphasizing the unique vulnerability of early developmental stages and the urgent need for further interdisciplinary research.de
