Chinas zunehmend aggressives Auftreten im Südchinesischen Meer und in der Taiwanstraße, die Folgen eines potenziellen Konflikts in der Region sowie die Sorge um ein mögliches Ausbleiben von (militärischer) US-Unterstützung sind Herausforderungen, die Deutschland sowie Verbündete im Indo-Pazifik gleichermaßen betreffen. Viele Länder dort leisten einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Unterstützung der Ukraine und damit zur europäischen Sicherheit.
