The level of teacher training is one of the factors, which have an influence on educational quality, especially, in mathematics, which is not the exception. The objective of this article is to show the results of the research, which aimed to determine the characteristics of the level of education, age, and gender in the math teachers in the State of Boyacá. It is found that the level of postgraduate training of teachers in this area in Boyacá (61.8%) is lower than that in Bogotá (73%), in addition to other characteristics resulting from the intersection with gender and age. El nivel de formación docente es uno de los factores que influyen en la calidad educativa, sobre todo, en área de matemáticas no es la excepción. El objetivo del presente artículo es exponer los resultados de la investigación que tuvo por objetivo determinar las características del nivel educativo, edad y género en los docentes de matemáticas del departamento de Boyacá. Se encuentra que el nivel de formación de posgrado de los docentes de esta área en Boyacá (61.8%) es más bajo que Bogotá (73%), además de otras características resultantes del cruce con el género y la edad.
