Peace education was established in Colombia as mandatory from Law 1732 of 2014, a regulation, which determined that this type of education would be adopted from the implementation and development of the "Chair of Peace," a subject through which the State seeks to ensure the creation and strengthening of the culture of peace from school, being the objective of this study: the identification of features, strengths, and pitfalls of such an establishment, from teachers' standpoint. This research was carried out under the case study strategy, evaluative type, with a non-probabilistic sample of critical cases. From the analysis of the results, immaturity was determined in the institutional functioning for the establishment of this type of education, difficulties were found in the style of curricular management, in pedagogical management, and teaching action in the classroom, among other factors predictive of quality in the provision of an educational service; findings reflected in the perception of non-compliance in the application of the precept, the lack of a philosophy of peace education, gaps in the implementation, development and articulation of peace education based on the guidelines or orientations suggested for its effective management, and dissatisfaction with respect to professional development opportunities from the processes of continuous training for educators on this issue.... view less

La educación para la paz se estableció en Colombia como obligatoria a partir de la Ley 1732 de 2014, norma que determinó que éste tipo de educación se adoptaría a partir de la implementación y desarrollo de la "Cátedra de la paz", asignatura a través de la cual el Estado busca garantizar la creación y fortalecimiento de la cultura de la paz desde la escuela, siendo objetivo de este estudio la identificación de características, fortalezas y obstáculos de tal instauración, desde la visión de docentes. Esta investigación se realizó bajo la estrategia estudio de caso, tipo evaluativo, con muestra no probabilística,de clase casos críticos. A partir del análisis de resultados se determinó inmadurez en el funcionamiento institucional para la instauración de este tipo de educación, se hallaron dificultades en el estilo de la gestión curricular, en la gestión pedagógica y la acción docente en el aula, entre otros factores predictivos calidad en la prestación de un servicio educativo; hallazgos reflejados a partir de la percepción de incumplimiento en la aplicación del precepto, a la carencia de una filosofía de educación para la paz, a vacíos en la implementación, desarrollo y articulación de la formación para la paz con base a los lineamientos u orientaciones sugeridos para su gestión eficaz, y a la insatisfacción con respecto a las oportunidades de desarrollo profesional desde los procesos de formación continua para educadores sobre este tema.... view less
