Orientierung an Empowerment und Powersharing als Konkretisierungsmöglichkeit intersektionaler Perspektiven in der (Offenen) Kinder- und Jugendarbeit

Abstract

Analyse und Reflexion von Herrschaftsverhältnissen in Sozialer Arbeit sind zunehmend mit dem Ansatz der Intersektionalität verbunden. Im Beitrag wird untersucht, inwiefern intersektionale Perspektiven mit Blick auf Handlungsmöglichkeiten konkretisiert werden können. Dabei sind Empowerment und Powersharing im Feld der (Offenen) Kinder- und Jugendarbeit ausschlaggebend. Anhand von Expert*inneninterviews mit Fachkräften sowie einer theoretischen Untersuchung werden Rahmenbedingungen und Praxen systematisiert. So lassen sich Safer Spaces und eine Kombination aus Empowerment und Powersharing als Möglichkeit verstehen, Intersektionalität zu übersetzen. Gleichzeitig werden Widersprüche einer intersektionalen Veränderungsperspektive im Zusammenhang mit der kapitalistisch-nationalstaatlichen Rahmung sowie Normalisierungsfunktion Sozialer Arbeit deutlich.

The analysis and reflection of power relations in social work are increasingly being linked to the intersectionality approach. The article examines the extent to which intersectional perspectives oriented to empowerment and power-sharing in the field of (open) child and youth work can be substantiated in terms of possible courses of action. Conditions and practices are systematized on the basis of expert interviews with specialists and a theoretical analysis. Safer spaces and a combination of empowerment and power-sharing can thus be understood as a possible way of translating intersectionality into the practice of child and youth work. At the same time, the contradictions of an intersectional perspective on transformation in the context of both the capitalist nation-state framework as well as social work’s normalization function become evident.
