Abstract

This book offers a good overview of the current advances in research, its value as a source of reference and for teaching is limited at best. It is significant in its departure away from older (normative, holistic, comparative) perspectives. The focus is on the administrative contribution to the formation and success of programs. "Performance" has emerged as the key-term of a self-understanding that places Public Administration closer to Policy Sciences and Organizational Theory than to some traditions of the discipline.
