Die Corona-Pandemie hat tiefe Spuren auch in der empirischen Sozialforschung hinterlassen. Insbesondere qualitativ Forschende sehen die Pandemie als Einschnitt und Zensur. Dieser Artikel versucht dagegen, die Herausforderungen der Pandemie mit Blick auf die arbeitssoziologische Fallstudienforschung als Beschleunigung von Wandlung wie Heterogenität arbeitssoziologischer Forschung zu begreifen. Dies wird anhand der theoretisch-konzeptionellen, methodologischen wie empirischen Ebenen aufgezeigt. Die Pandemie und ihre Folgen führen demnach weniger zu einer substanziellen Krise insbesondere der qualitativen Forschung, als vielmehr zur Reflexion eigener Grundannahmen und Vorgehensweisen auf den genannten Ebenen: Empirisch wie forschungspolitisch wird das eigene Erwartungsmanagement herausgefordert, methodisch wie konzeptionell verlangt der heterogenere Zugang zu Interviewees, Betrieben und die damit verbundenen Veränderungen in den Fallrekonstruktionen Antworten.... view less

The Corona pandemic has also left deep traces in empirical social research. Especially qualitative researchers see the pandemic as an incision and censorship. This article, on the other hand, tries to understand the challenges of the pandemic with a view to case study research in the sociology of work as an acceleration of transformation as well as heterogeneity of research in this field. This is shown on the basis of theoretical-conceptual, methodological as well as empirical levels. The pandemic and its consequences do not so much lead to a substantial crisis, especially in qualitative research, but rather to a reflection on one's own basic assumptions and procedures on the levels mentioned: Empirically as well as research-politically the own expectation management is challenged, methodologically as well as conceptually the more heterogeneous access to interviewees, companies and the associated changes in the case reconstructions demand answers.... view less
