Performatividad, memoria y conmemoración: la experiencia de la marchaRearme en el Chile post-dictadorial

Abstract

Coup d’etat, eine 1973 gegründete Gruppe chilenischer Sozialwissenschaftler/innen, entschied sich 2005 nach vorhergehenden Forschungsarbeiten für eine performative Aktion, um neue Wege des Erinnerns an chilenische Geschichte zu ermöglichen. Dieser Artikel beschäftigt sich mit der Analyse des Organisierens und Durchführens dieser Aktion, MarchaRearme, mit deren Voraussetzungen und Potenzialen. Es wird dabei gezeigt, dass das zugrunde liegende Verständnis von Performativität essenziell war für die Aktion und die dann folgende Analyse. Hiervon ausgehend werden mögliche Implikationen und Chancen der Konzepts der Performativität für die Forschung und für soziale Interventionen diskutiert, und zwar im Besonderen bezogen auf die Politik und auf das Erinnern der gewaltsamen Vergangenheit der chilenischen Gesellschaft.

In 2005, after research into the march commemorating the 1973 Chilean coup d’etat, a group of social scientists decided to develop a performative action to intervene in the commemoration, with the aim of promoting new ways to remember this period of their history. This article deals with the analysis of the way that the march was accomplished, through the process of organizing and conducting a performative action, called MarchaRearme, and by analyzing its fundamentals and potential. The article demonstrates how the notion of performativity was central to this developmental process and its subsequent analysis. Concerning this experience, the article further discusses the possibilities and scope of the notion of performativity in research and social intervention, particularly in the area related to the politics and memories of the violent and confrontational past of Chilean society.

En el año 2005, a partir de un proceso de investigación sobre la marcha de conmemoración del Golpe de Estado de 1973 en Chile, un grupo de científicos sociales decidimos desarrollar una acción performativa para intervenir en esta conmemoración y contribuir así a tensionar sus prácticas y significados, con el objetivo de promover nuevas formas de recordar ese periodo de nuestra historia. Este artículo aborda el análisis de la marcha tal como se realizaba hasta ese momento y del proceso de organización y realización de esta acción performativa, llamada marchaRearme, analizando sus fundamentos y alcances. La idea es mostrar cómo la noción de performatividad fue central para el desarrollo del proceso y para su análisis posterior. A propósito de esta experiencia, también nos interesa discutir sobre las posibilidades y alcances de la noción de performatividad en la investigación y la intervención social, particularmente en aquellas temáticas relacionadas con la política y las memorias del pasado violento y conflictivo de la sociedad.
