Employment can be regarded as a main element for the develop-ment of societies since the forms, in which people work, significantly affect their living conditions. The development of modern forms of employment in capitalist economies in the 19th and 20th century has been influenced by collectivity and solidarity. Up to the 1990s solidarity can be regarded as a main mechanism of the arrangement of work and employment. In the following years, individualization and "subjectivication" ("Subjektivierung") have become phenomena that changed the employment relationship and working conditions in many ways. In the search of future forms of employment, the "entreployee" ("Arbeitskraftunternehmer") has experienced a lot of attention. In the transition towards a knowledge-based society (in which subjectificated forms of work are dominating) solidarity between working people does not become redundant. Instead, solidarity in such a working society will turn into new forms. In this paper, we call this subjectificated solidarity (subjektivierte Solidarität).... view less
