Establishing alternative mental health care has been facing several difficulties. We need to examine the subjective processes that may be supporting archaic & criticized practices in this area. The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between the concepts of subjectivity, nihilism & institutionality in order to overcome the impasse in which deinstitutionalization finds itself.
