El hilo conductor de este texto es el de elucidar cómo el Brasil actual llegó a una situación de riesgo de institucionalización del autoritarismo. El objetivo del presente ensayo es reflexionar sobre algunos de los elementos que han sido relevantes para pensar el Brasil de las elecciones de 2018 y de los últimos años, ello a partir de la revisión de literatura y del análisis de la coyuntura sociopolítica reciente. This article attempts to elucidate how did present-day Brazil came to the risk of institutionalization of authoritarianism. We try to reflecton elements to think of Brazil in the 2018 elections, as well as the last recent years. The text draws from a literature review and analysis of the recent sociopolitical conjuncture. The consolidation of the "Bolsonaro Phenomenon" is explained by, among other things, the following elements: 1) the historical problems that we have never solved; 2) the internal problems of the governments of the Workers’ Party; 3) the demonstrations of June 2013, and 4) the 2016 coup.
