The purpose of this paper is to present the foundations of metaphysical atomism from the production of knowledge in classical antiquity. It is not necessarily opening any kind of discussion about the production of contemporary knowledge about the reality of the atom. It is to present the theoretical foundations of Greek base, whose effects were felt in later developments of the metaphysical atomism.
