Si bien las comunidades humanas forman identidades colectivas que las diferencian pero que configuran la pluralidad del género humano, razones de diversa índole alientan el surgimiento de prejuicios de unas contra otras. El racismo es una modalidad de prejuicio ideológico y cultural que considera "inferiores" a determinadas comunidades. En México, ¿existe el racismo? Más que dar respuestas definitivas, el autor ofrece tres "estampas" en las que se pueden detectar síntomas racistas: "el gringo", "lo extranjero" y "el indio". El autor destaca, de igual manera, la importancia de la educación para combatir los prejuicios racistas, entendiendo la educación como un sistema que comprende no sólo a la escuela sino también a los medios masivos de difusión.... view less

Albeit human communities form differentiated collective identities that constitute the plural tile of mankind, various circunstances spur the emergence of prejudices amongst them. Racism is a modality of ideological and cultural prejudice, by which certain communities are considered "inferior". Can racism be found in Mexico? Rather than providing definitive answers, the author depicts three "image prints" where racist symptons are found: "the gringo", "made abroad", "the native indian".
