Este artículo plantea la lucha entre las dos concepciones de la actividad periodística que presenciamos en nuestros días: el periodismo de los hechos y el periodismo crítico. En un mundo globalizado, donde predominan las nuevas tecnologías, la desaparición de las fronteras, los nuevos nacionalismos y la universalización de lo regional, la lucha por el predominio de estas dos corrientes parece favorecer al periodismo de los hechos. La añeja idea positivista de que la objetividad está en los hechos se ha revitalizado al asimilar los recursos puestos al día por el "nuevo periodismo" y sus descendientes. This arricie discusses the contemporary struggle between the two main conceptions in the field of journalistic activities: joumalism devoted to facts and critical journalism. In a globalized world, in which new technologies domínate the scene, the waming of frontiers, the new forms of exacerbated nationalism and the universalization of regional experiences, all seem to favor a predominance of the view that supports a jomalism of facts. The oíd positivist idea in which objetivity is located within the facts has taken on a new vitality by asimilating the resources made available by the "new joumalism" and their advócales. Nevertheless, critical journalism is gaining more and more every day, from the theoretical arsenal in order to become the demistifying alternative.... view less
