Sus componentes básicos, la política simbólica y la memoria colectiva, fungen como base importante para la consistencia y estabilidad de una comunidad mediante la cohesión y sentimiento de adhesión a grupos políticos. This article explains how a political myth is created with the help of narratives and imagery about events, persons and ideas that become factors determining the orieniation of political behaviour. Its basic components, the symbolic politics and the collective memory, become the basis of consteney and stability of a commurtity through the cohesión and a feeling of adhe- rence to political groups.
