Este artículo describe, mediante un ejercicio de análisis de contenido y aplicación de técnicas cuantitativas, las diferencias respecto a la jerarquización, omisión, evaluación y tratamiento general de la información que se observan en la transmisión de noticias de cuatro noticiarios nocturnos (Televisa, TV Azteca, CNI Canal 40 e IPN Canal 11). Los temas de las noticias evaluadas tienen que ver con el periodo de las campañas electorales intermedias federales de 2003 y la información relativa a partidos políticos. This article describes the processing of information given to news in four TV news mexican programs emited by Televisa, TV Azteca, CNI Canal 40 and IPN Canal 11. Trough an exercise of content analysys and quantitative techniques, it describes the differences between the hierarchy, omission, evaluation and general treatment of information in those tv news programs. The issues of the evaluated news are all related to the 2003 mexican federal elections period, and the political parties information presented on the TV news. The article asserts that the quantity and quality of national politics information emited by mass media, are important factors in the process of public opinion formation, as well as a political culture element.... view less
