En este artículo, el autor analiza y evalúa el Proyecto de Desarrollo de Comunidades Rurales Pobres (PRODECOP) como uno de varios programas que existen en Venezuela para reducir los índices de pobreza. La metodología utilizada comprende tanto investigación documental como trabajo de campo. In his article, the author analyzes and evaluates the so called PRODECOP (Proyecto de Desarrollo de Comunidades Rurales Pobres) as one of the various programs designed to reduce poverty in Venezuela. The methodology comprises documental research, interviews and focal groups. One of the main conclusions is that PRODECOP has been successful in strengthening the human, social, financial and physical assets of the beneficiaries.
