Luxemburg ist in bemerkenswerter Weise von grenzüberschreitenden Mobilitätsphänomenen geprägt, zu denen Grenzpendler und Wohnmigranten zählen. Während beide Gruppen überwiegend unter sozioökonomischen Aspekten betrachtet werden, nimmt dieser Beitrag eine soziokulturelle Perspektive ein. Untersucht wird die Frage, inwiefern grenzüberschreitende Alltagsmobilität die Entstehung grenzüberschreitender Lebenswelten an der luxemburgischen Grenze fördert. Dafür werden die Entwicklung von sozialen Kontakten am Arbeits- und/oder Wohnort sowie die räumliche Organisation von Alltagspraktiken von Grenzpendlern und Wohnmigranten beleuchtet. Beide Teilaspekte werden in den betrachteten Gruppen anhand von quantitativ und qualitativ erhobenen Befunden aus verschiedenen Studien diskutiert und zueinander in Beziehung gesetzt. Luxembourg is particularly characterised by cross-border mobility phenomena such as cross-border commuters and residential migrants. While both groups are usually considered from a socio-economic perspective, this paper takes a socio-cultural stance. The focus of investigation is the extent to which cross-border everyday mobility promotes the development of cross-border living environments on the Luxembourg border. To this end light is shed on the development of social contacts at the place of work and/or residence and the spatial organisation of the everyday practices of cross-border commuters and residential migrants. Both aspects are discussed and set in relation to one another using quantitative and qualitative findings from various investigations. The paper provides insights into living environments on the inner borders of the EU, where divisions between nation states are of subordinate importance but simultaneously constitutive.... view less
