Dieser Beitrag zeichnet die Entwicklung des Forschungsprogramms Kurt Lewins im Lichte seiner Visualisierungstechniken nach. Das Werk Lewins zeigt sich über viele Jahrzehnte hinweg von der Überzeugung geprägt, dass die Sichtbarmachung unsichtbarer psychischer Kräfte und Prozesse sowie deren Erfassung, Beschreibung und Formalisierung das Ziel einer wissenschaftlichen Psychologie bilde. Die von Lewin herangezogenen Medien, von der phänomenologischen Beschreibung, der Filmkamera bis zum topologischen Diagramm, verhalten sich jedoch nicht indifferent gegenüber ihrem Untersuchungsgegenstand, sondern haben epistemologische Konsequenzen: Sie ziehen eine zunehmende Distanzierung des Forschers gegenüber seinem Untersuchungsgegenstand nach sich.... view less

This paper analyzes the development of Kurt Lewin’s research program in the light of his visualization practices. The work of Kurt Lewin can be characterized by the conviction that the visualization of invisible psychical forces and processes and their description and formalization represent the most important challenges for a scientific psychology. The media that Lewin used in achieving this goal, however, from phenomenological description, the film camera up to the topological diagram, do have epistemological consequences: they lead to an increasing dissociation between the researcher and the persons and situations under investigation.... view less
