The author tends to analyze the main characteristics of the media today and the consequences of relevant media activity to the society and the man. A special place in the article is reserved for the consideration of the phenomenon referred to as the man-shell, that is, the way of online life that is becoming more frequent in modern time, and as such, more and more recognized. A part of the article is dedicated to the imperative of "continuous present" the modern media forces upon us, that is, the consequences of imperative Now to man's identity and authenticity, as well as his willingness to get socially and politically engaged. The final part of the article considers renewed awareness, the process that could be one of the means of escape from the world of illusions the modern media successfully create and a path of return to the natural, primary reality.... view less
