In several decades, the intercultural management research has developed into a fascinating and at the same time relevant subject area that has spawned important research of both conceptual and empirical nature. Striking, however, is the relatively one-sided problem-oriented approach that focuses especially on difficult dealing with cultural differences in work-related interactive situations. Interestingly, constructive and enriching aspects of cultural diversity are largely neglected in this (area of research), which result from the interaction of different experiences, perspectives and skills of interaction partners. This article aims to deal with the issue of constructive interculturality in management, to derive it in a theoretical-conceptual way and to illustrate it empirically in an application-oriented approach. In relation to the theme of this issue of the Interculture Journal, Rethinking Intercultural Management could mean that cultural diversity and interculturalism in work contexts should not be evaluated only negatively or neutral, but as constructive and positive. Building on the concept of negotiated culture, it is shown through a case study about the Franco-German high-speed train company Alleo, how cultural diversity is used constructively and synergistically through a conscious combination of complementary elements in organisations.... weniger
