In diesem Beitrag wird eine Reihe konzeptioneller Fragen diskutiert und für analytische Strategien plädiert, in denen die spezifische Sozialität technischer Artefakte ernst genommen wird. Es wird gezeigt, daß die Natur des Problems konzeptionelle Einheitslösungen nicht zuläßt. Vielmehr wird ein gezielter Eklektizismus befürwortet, der eine Öffnung disziplinärer Ansätze für technikwissenschaftliche Herangehensweisen einerseits, eher literarische Repräsentationen alltäglicher Erfahrungswelten andererseits erlaubt.
