Objective: To describe through the scientific literature, the impact that children with special health care needs cause on their families. Method:
Integrative review, performed in MEDLINE, BDENF, LILACS e IBECS database. There were 67 articles published between 2003 and 2013 selected, which constituted the study sample. Results: This issue has been investigated with priority in international studies and the impact occurs in the transmission of the diagnosis and results in financial repercussions, on health and everyday
