Objective: To identify the practices performed by professionals of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) with the elderly attended at a Basic Health Unit (BHU). Method: This is a qualitative research conducted with FHS professionals. The research consisted of semi-structured interviews with 16 health professionals. Results: From the thematic analysis proposed by Minayo, seven categories emerged: home visits, group living, physical activity, listening, bond-responsibility of the elderly and disease prevention. Conclusion: To think about the meanings of aging should consider the dynamic relationships that society refers to the aging process. The role of the health professional to ensure full care for the elderly. Reflect on their care practices ensures the user a decent and humane care, including the elderly in their entirety.... weniger
