 abstract = {The Nursing is considered the fourth most stressful profession in the public sector. Numerous intrinsic and extrinsic factors affect the work the individual making him susceptible to the development of labor emotional disturbances.The Burnout Syndrome is one of the manifestations of suffering more present among workers, and is characterized by a set of physical and psychological, consequential signs of poor adjustment to the work environment. This syndrome results from emotional stress due to the interaction with other people and interfere directly in maintaining the quality of life of the worker. The aim of this study is to discuss the occupational stress as an intervening factor in the occurrence of Burnout Syndrome and the influence of the same in the quality of life of the nurse inserted in the current socioeconomic context. This is a literature review, qualitative in nature and character descriptive. The results show that the highest incidence of burnout syndrome is among the workers who work in health care, due to their long-term involvement in situations of high demand. We conclude that one of the biggest challenges for nursing professionals today is reactivate the ability to care or be attentive to welcome their patients and at the same time, consider developing and maintaining their quality of life.},
