H-Soz-u-Kult: Kommunikation und Fachinformation für die Geschichtswissenschaften

Abstract

"Die Anfänge von H-Soz-u-Kult reichen zurück bis ins Jahr 1996, als sich ein deutschsprachiges Internetforum 'Humanities. Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte' an der HU-Berlin als Teil des amerikanischen H-Nets etablierte. Im Wesentlichen ist H-Soz-u-Kult eine moderierte Mailing-Liste. Redaktionelle Arbeit ist jedoch notwendig, um die wissenschaftliche Relevanz der übermittelten Beiträge zu sichern. Seit der Gründung von H-Soz-u-Kult entfalteten sich Inhalte und technische Prozesse aufeinander folgend, wodurch ein verteiltes Redaktionssystem mit epochalen, regionalen und wissenschaftlichen Spezialisierungen enstand. Als ein Modul für historische Information und Kommunikation wurde H-Soz-u-Kult im Jahre 2002 in das Project 'Clio online' integriert. Clio online wird gesponsert von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Mit der Entwicklung des Portalsystems konnten spezielle Redaktionsgruppen integriert und zusätzliche Möglichkeiten der Publikation geschaffen werden." (Autorenreferat)

"The beginnings of H-Soz-u-Kult go back to 1996 when a German-speaking Internet forum 'Humanities. Social and Cultural History' established itself at the HU-Berlin as a part of the American H-Net. In essence H-Soz-u-Kult is a moderated mailing list. However, editorial work is necessary in order to secure the scientific relevance of the submitted contributions. Since the foundation of H-Soz-u-Kult, the contents and the technical processes have unfolded successively, and so a distributed editorial model with epochal, regional and scientific specializations has been established. As a module for historical information and communication, H-Soz-u-Kult was integrated into the project 'Clio online' in the year 2002. Clio online is sponsored by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
