A pesquisa examinará o impacto que o uso de software livre pode trazer sobre a eficácia e eficiência de recursos educacionais abertos (REA). A primeira hipótese de trabalho é que o uso associado de SL afeta positivamente essas variáveis; a segunda hipótese é que esse impacto (e particularmente sua relação custo-benefício para os atores envolvidos) variará significativamente de acordo com o tipo de atividade ou iniciativa relacionada a REA: criação, organização, disseminação e utilização de REA. A pesquisa consistirá em uma análise teórica sobre as relações entre software livre e REA, e no levantamento e análise de dados empíricos sobre softwares e iniciativas de REA em cada uma dessas quatro categorias. A pesquisa buscará ainda identificar outros fatores que afetem essas variáveis (como o envolvimento da comunidade, a adequação dos materiais para a realidade local, a existência de suporte institucional etc.), de forma a contribuir para a formulação de políticas públicas e de estrategias educacionais ligadas a REA.... weniger

The research will examine the impact that the use of free software can have over the efficacy and efficiency of open educational resources (OER). The first working hypothesis is that the associated use of free software positively affects those variables; the second hypothesis is that this impact (and particularly its cost-effectiveness to the involved actors) will vary significantly according to the type of OER-related activity or initiative: creation, organization, dissemination and use of OER. The research will consist on a theoretical analysis of the relations between free software and OER, and on a survey and analysis of empirical data on OER-related software and initiatives in each of those four categories. The research will also attempt to identify other factors affecting those variables (such as community engagement, adequacy of the materials with regard to local reality, institutional support etc.), to contribute to OER-related policy-making and development of implementation strategies.... weniger
