"This article focuses on the ordinary everyday interaction practices of participants in university situations and will show how the students' understanding of institutional settings with their rules and resources permits them to knowingly manage educational interactions. By way of concrete examples from university situations, the analysis examines how time is used as one of these resources and which practical methods of the students' time management are developed. The analysis is based on ethnographic observations as well as audio and video recordings of interactions between lecturers and students within the seminar format." (author's abstract)... view less
