"Der Trend, wieder in der Stadt zu wohnen, birgt Chancen und Risiken für die Städte. Der Rückzug in die Stadt muss stadtverträglich gestaltet werden, bedarf einer regionalplanerischen Einbettung und einer abgestimmten Unterstützung aller Politikebenen. Das Positionspapier der drei beteiligten und mit verschiedenen Entwicklungsvoraussetzungen ausgestatteten Städte Stuttgart, Mannheim und Freiburg im Breisgau soll, unter vertiefender Betrachtung von fünf Schlüsselthemen, einen Beitrag leisten, um Anforderungen an adäquate raumordnungs- und stadtentwicklungspolitische sowie fachgesetzliche Rahmenbedingungen zu formulieren." "The trend to relocate into the city includes both opportunities and risks for the cities. It has to be compatible with sustained urban development, requires a regional planning and embedding of a concerted support of all policy levels. The position paper of the three cities of Stuttgart, Mannheim and Freiburg im Breisgau (all located in Baden- Württemberg), each equipped with various developmental prerequisites, focuses on indepth consideration of five key issues.
