Intercultural Coaching identifies and develops intercultural competence as a key to success in the international and globalised work environment. Coaching in general has gained recognition as a very suitable method for competence development on the job. Human resource experts are increasingly aware that intercultural aspects cannot be excluded from leadership or team-development programs. The inclusion of the intercultural realities and connected challenges into the scope of a coaching process demands enhanced professional and systematic approaches. Comprehension and application of intercultural theories increases the understanding and structuring of these experiences. This article focuses on ways of integrating intercultural aspects into a coaching process using clientcentered methods. The thorough investigation of the often hidden cultural aspects of a coaching topic depends on the intercultural awareness of the coach himself. The quality of the intercultural coaching process can only be guaranteed through the accessibility of specific intercultural coaching programs as well as ongoing education for active coaches. This article explores the role coaching plays in the intercultural learning process in combination with intercultural training. It lays out the skills needed in an international work setting by explaining the specific requirements and benefits linked to the core competencies. A catalog of possible coaching questions based on a case study enables the reader to gain a deeper understanding for the realities of an intercultural coaching process.... view less
