When discussing the question of developing intercultural skills we should be aware of the fact that different cultural contexts entail different conceptions of intercultural competence and of its sub-skills respectively. This paper tries to clarify to what extent aspects like learning attitude, dealing with conflicts and openness to dialogue are culturally conditioned and how this could be taken into consideration when talking about the development of intercultural skills.
