Abstract

Florian Buch beschreibt auf der Grundlage eigener Forschungsaktivitäten am Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung Motive des Wissenschaftsrats zur Reform kultur- und geisteswissenschaftlicher Studiengänge an deutschsprachigen Hochschulen.

The article argues that the humanities should act with more self-confidence to allow for a better start of their students into professional careers. Moreover, it gives hints at a more active stance of the humanities related to current trends and reforms in higher education. These hints focus on organizational, curricular and market-oriented aspects.
