(Autorenreferat)... view less

"The article addresses the contingent significances of 'gender' and 'education' within discourses on single-sex schooling. Results of (a) an analysis of scientific texts on mono-educational settings and (b) an analysis of focus group interviews with students who have experienced single-sex schooling will be presented. The data analysis is grounded on basic assumptions of discourse theory and poststructuralist theory respectively. The research aims to describe the formal and material dimensions of speaking about gender and education which are governed by references to single-sex schooling." (author's abstract)... view less
