Räumliche Auswirkungen der internationalen Migration - Einführung

Abstract

"Internationale Migration und die gesellschaftliche Herausforderung der Integration sind hochaktuelle Themen für Politik und Gesellschaft in Deutschland. Die Konzentration von Personen mit Migrationshintergrund in bestimmten städtischen Quartieren sowie die zunehmende Diversität der Migrant(inn)en nach Herkunft, Sprache, Religion, Bildungsniveau oder sozialem Status stellen Stadt- und Regionalentwicklung vor grundlegende Aufgaben. In den bisherigen Forschungen der Akademie für Raumforschung und Landesplanung blieb die zunehmende Diversität der Bevölkerung infolge internationaler Zuwanderung unterrepräsentiert. Ziel des Arbeitskreises 'Räumliche Auswirkungen der internationalen Migration' war es, das Thema in seinen gesellschaftlichen und räumlichen Zusammenhängen zu betrachten." (Autorenreferat)

"International migration and the social challenge of integration are highly topical socio-political issues in Germany. Concentrations of people with a migration background in certain urban neighbourhoods as well as the increasing diversity of immigrants in terms of origin, language, religion, educational level and social status present fundamental tasks for urban and regional development. The increasing diversity of the population in Germany due to international immigration has to date been under-represented in research by the Academy for Spatial Research and Planning. The aim of the working group 'Spatial Effects of International Migration' was thus to consider this topic in its social and spatial context." (author's abstract)
