Wider die Zwangsverheiratung von Grounded Theory und Objektiver Hermeneutik: eine Replik auf Bruno Hildenbrand

Abstract

"Die Replik auf Bruno Hildenbrand befasst sich kritisch mit dem von ihm artikulierten Verständnis von Strukturiertheit, Strukturierung und Handlung im Vergleich von Grounded Theory und Objektiver Hermeneutik. Dazu wird auf die epistemologischen und sozialtheoretischen Hintergründe der von Anselm Strauss vertretenden Variante der Grounded Theory zurückgegriffen und gezeigt, dass der aus dem Pragmatismus entlehnte Begriff von Realität, Struktur und Handeln sowie die Konzeption von Forschung als iterativ-zyklischer Problemlösungsprozess gerade nicht defizitär in Sachen Strukturiertheit sozialer Interaktionen ist und daher auch keiner Synthese mit der Objektiven Hermeneutik und ihrem kompromisslosen Regelbegriff bedarf." "In replying to Bruno Hildenbrand’s critical understanding of the notion of structure, structuredness, structuring (and thus action) in grounded theory, it is claimed that this methodological approach – different from objective hermeneutics – draws on a pragmatist epistemology that instead of underestimating the aspect of structuredness rather develops a completely different concept of the interplay between structure and action. Therefore there is no use in seeking a middle ground between these two methodologies without prior acknowledging their profoundly different epistemological and social theoretical basis."
