"Der These folgend, dass die Kategorien ‚Halbtags- und Ganztagsschule‘, sowie die Unterscheidung von Ganztagsschulen in ‚offene‘, ‚teilgebundene‘ und ‚gebundene‘ Systeme der heutigen Ganztagsschul- und Ganztagsangebotslandschaft nicht gerecht werden, sollen in diesem Beitrag deskriptive Analysen vorgestellt werden, die zeigen, inwiefern sich Hamburger Ganztagsschulen verschiedenen Ausbaugrades sowie Halbtagsschulen hinsichtlich ihres ganztägigen Angebots und dessen Umsetzung im Schulalltag unterscheiden. Berücksichtigung erfahren Elemente des Ganztages, die als theoretische Qualitätsindikatoren ganztägiger Bildung herausgearbeitet wurden (Holtappels 2009). "This article starts with the proposition that the categories of ‘all-day' and 'half-day' school, as well as the differentiation of all day schools into ‘open', 'half-bound' and 'bound’ systems, cannot describe the present variety of German all-day schools properly. In order to exemplify this quality of the German school system, descriptive statistics are used to show to what extent all-day and half-day schools in Hamburg differ in regard to their organizational characteristics. To do so, components of all-day schooling that have been identified as theoretical quality indicators are taken into account (Holtappels 2009).
