(Autorenreferat)... view less

This abridged final report sees a chance for accomplishing this - particularly when conditions in the continuing education and training (CET) field are improved. A review of current skill requirements is followed by suggestions for new methods, content and structures. A shift in focus away from a 'booklearning', subject-based approach and toward activity-based skill acquisition will generate new momentum and motivate individuals to move up the career ladder to middle management in the construction industry. Based on this report, construction-related associations and union organizations expect continuing vocational education and training in this field to be revised in the near future. In which case, the slogan 'Be smart, learn a construction trade' could soon be heard on construction sites once again." (author's abstract)... view less
