L’insécurité urbaine et les grands événements sportifs: la coupe du monde de football, Brésil 2014

Abstract

In the group of emerging countries, Brazil is a figure apart: having no inclination to "big brother" to smaller neighbors and not part of the communist blockade traditionally opposed to the capitalist, Brazil would came out through successive presidential terms (2003-2010) Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who led the country on a new path. This international outlook is confirmed by the fact that Brazil has been entrusted the organization of two major sporting events: the World Cup in 2014 and the Summer Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. The challenge is how to manage urban insecurity generated by the favelas and internal disparities.
