Dies gilt nicht zuletzt für die Kriminalpolitik - für die Blair die Devise 'tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime' ausgegeben hatte. Eine Devise, die im Wahlkampf der SPD 1998 zum Slogan 'entschlossen gegen Kriminalität, entschlossen gegen ihre Ursachen' (Kant/ Pütter 1998, S. 62) wurde.
