Granted that there is a certain one-sidedness in methodological orientation, the accepted methodological standards in psychology are not in accordance with such a bias, because methods have to be interpreted in light of an adequate theory of the domain in question. The neurosciences should not be overestimated as far as their contributions to the unity of psychology is concerned. Psychological processes cannot be substituted by brain data, because the former give at hand criteria of identification for the latter. Within the framework of biological anthropology the neurosciences produce results, that philosophical anthropology can use and must use in a fruitful way for the unity of psychology.... view less
