'Die Fallstudie analysiert in ethnographischer Perspektive Konstruktion und Gebrauch eines Sprachtests, der im Rahmen von kinderärztlichen Vorsorgeuntersuchungen angewandt wird. Sie arbeitet mit Dokumenten/ Instrumentenanalyse und der dichten Beschreibung der Durchführung von Tests auf der Basis teilnehmender Beobachtung. Die Studie stellt praktische Qualitäten und Mängel der spezifischen Testarchitektur heraus und beschreibt, wie in einer Testsituation pädagogische Rahmungen 'beliehen' werden, wie diese pragmatisch zu anderen als pädagogischen Zwecken dienen und die Mängel des Instruments in situ zum einen verdeutlichen und zum anderen kompensieren. 'Adopting an ethnographical perspective, this case study analyzes the construction and use of a language test administered in the context of paediatricians' routine check-ups. Relying on an analysis of documents/ instruments and on the minute description of test administration as recorded through participant observation, the study highlights the strengths and the weaknesses of a specific test architecture and describes how, in the test situation, pedagogical frameworks are drawn upon and how they are pragmatically used for other than pedagogical purposes, thus providing in situ evidence in illustration of, as well as compensation for, the shortcomings of a particular instrument. It thus contributes to an analysis of the practice and the culture of tests for early diagnostics in paediatrics.' (author's abstract)|... view less
