Berufsorientierende Jugendbildung - Jugendbildung zwischen Sozialpädagogik, Schule und Arbeitswelt

Abstract

'Berufsorientierung ist immer noch ein Stiefkind der Pädagogik. Zu unsystematisch und viel zu spät, nämlich erst mit dem Berufseinmündungsprozess, werden Berufswünsche und Berufsorientierungen von Jugendlichen thematisiert - und fast ausschließlich in der Schule. Empirische Untersuchungen zeigen dagegen die große biografische Bedeutung von Beruf und Arbeitswelt für die Identität und die Selbstvergewisserung von Kindern und Jugendlichen auf. Vor diesem Hintergrund entwirft der Artikel das Konzept einer berufsorientierenden Jugendbildung, die in Kooperation von Schule, außerschulischer Jugendbildung und Betrieben erfahrungs- und handlungsbezogene Angebote für die Berufsorientierung von Kindern und Jugendlichen bereitstellt.' 'Vocational orientation still is an under-researched topic in educational science. The issues of career aspirations and vocational orientation are broached too late and too unsystematically - namely during the process of entering the labor market and almost exclusively in school. Empirical research points to the crucial role of profession and professional life for the identify and self-development of children and adolescents. Against this backdrop the present article develops a concept for occupation oriented youth education as a cooperation of schools, extracurricular education and companies providing experience- and action-based opportunities for vocational orientation of children and adolescents.'
